Wasdale Valley
Wasdale is the birth place of mountaineering & has some of the most dramatic Lakeland scenery in Cumbria. Away from the hustle & bustle of the more well known areas like Keswick & Windermere, Wasdale offers a more tranquil feel.
Wastwater is England’s deepest lake & now Britain’s favourite view, it is surrounded by many mountains & the screes ridge plummets into the lakes shore, which is where the Screes Inn gets its name from.
Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England, many people who walk the three peaks stay at the Screes as it is the ideal base for many walks in Wasdale.
